Best of the Blogs – click here to view all of the March winners

As many of you will know by now, we currently run a ‘Blog of the Week’ competition, with results being announced via our social media accounts – including our Twitter page, which can be followed @YourSchoolGames. Here, we take a look at our latest winners for the month of March.

In this monthly series we are offering the winning schools the opportunity to have their blogs displayed on the School Games home page. In addition, we will be recognising the pupils, schools and SGOs who have enjoyed the most success during a given period – in this case, for Monday 06 March – Friday 31 March 2017.

Blog of the Week: Monday 06 March – Friday 10 March

Congratulations to our winner – Helme CofE Junior School

Article Preview: “In the first half, we had the sun in our eyes and were running uphill but that didn’t deter our spirit. From the whistle, Tilda tore down the middle of their defence and was unlucky not to score. Libby and Ella were confident in their roles in midfield supporting Tilda in attack whilst battling in defence. Aimee was our rock in centre of defence ably assisted by Sophie and Abigail.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 13 March – Friday 17 March

Congratulations to our winner – Wren’s Nest Primary School

Article Preview: “When the horn was blown, every single girl sprinted. After a couple of minutes we started running by a very muddy gate. After the gate, we started running on a rocky path where the big hill was. After we ran over the hill there were some stewards showing us the way into a forest, in a very muddy forest. When we came out of the forest we started to sprint to the finish line. Well we tried to sprint but the mud kept slowing us down so we tried our best to win.”

Congratulations to our winner – Wembury Primary School

Article Preview: “Not a typical Monday morning, as 14 of our KS2 children ventured off to Marjons University for a brand new Change for life festival where the children attending would get to try a range of new activities and what a day they had. Sporting our fabulous new school sports bibs they were definitely up for the challenge of the day ahead.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 27 March – Friday 31 March

Congratulations to our winner – St Edward's Catholic Primary School

Article Preview: “From the start of our training something clicked and we soon found that we had the makings of a great team. When we arrived at the Oasis Academy we were greeted by Mel who organises the events. She gave my dad (who is actually our PE teacher) our groupings and fixture list. We soon discovered we had been drawn in a very tough group. Especially our rivals Minterne who had previously beaten us in the Dodgeball and 2 football tournaments.”
