Talent Inspiration (TIP)
Talent Inspiration Programme
TIP 2016/17 - What is it?
Running in parallel to the Level 4 School Games, the Talent Inspiration Programme (TIP) brings together 150 young aspiring athletes from across the country to participate in residential learning experiences.
This year's event will take place between Wednesday 30 August and Friday 01 September at Loughborough University, with nominations open to 14-18 year olds from across the country.
What are the benefits of taking part?
Hear from those that took part in 2016...
Throughout the programme experienced Athlete Mentors bring to life the world of an elite athlete and the journey it takes to reach the top. Young people have the opportunity to get involved in theoretical workshops, practical sessions and an opportunity to experience what it is like at a multi-sport event.
This is all designed to inspire young aspiring athletes and to encourage them to start thinking about how they can reach their potential and the impact that will have on their development as a young person.
TIP is a dynamic learning opportunity which will help to highlight the pathways available and support required for young aspiring athletes at a local level.
How do I get involved in 2017?
Young people attending the three-day residential experience can be nominated for selection by Local Organising Committees (LOCs), National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs), School Games Organisers (SGOs) and registered schools.
All nominations must be made by Friday 31 March. If you are eligible to make a nomination you will receive an email from the School Games team on or before Friday 24 February when the nomination window opens.
Following this, a select panel from the Youth Sport Trust will meet to select for the places available. All athletes will receive communication stating if they have been successful during the week beginning Monday 01 May and they will then have until Friday 26 May to confirm and finalise their place at TIP.
