Bring the Commonwealth Games 2026 into the Classroom
With the Commonwealth Games 2026 set to take place in Glasgow this summer, schools are being invited to engage pupils through a dedicated classroom resource pack designed to bring the spirit of the Games to life.
Developed by the British Council in collaboration with the Youth Sport Trust, the resource is aimed at pupils aged 7–11. It offers a range of engaging learning activities and supporting materials to help teachers explore the values of the Commonwealth, while connecting young people to the Games, their communities and the wider world.
Through themed sessions, pupils will be introduced to key Commonwealth values including humanity, equality and shared destiny. Activities focus on topics such as building connections, promoting gender equality, and encouraging fair play and inclusion to help pupils understand both the cultural and social impact of the Games.
To support delivery, teachers are also invited to attend an accompanying webinar, which will provide further insight into the Games and practical ideas for using the resource in the classroom.
Schools can access the classroom resource and register for the webinars via the links above.
