New 2025/26 School Games Mark Criteria Launched
Schools across the country can now access the updated 2025/26 School Games Mark criteria, with applications opening later this year.
The School Games Mark is a national accreditation that celebrates schools for their commitment to PE, physical activity and school sport. It recognises the hard work of schools in creating positive experiences of sport for all young people, helping pupils develop a lifelong love of movement.
What’s new for 2025/26?
The refreshed criteria is designed to reflect current priorities across education and sport, with an emphasis on:
- Ensuring more young people can access meaningful opportunities
- Highlighting the role of sport in supporting physical and mental health
- Encouraging schools to embed sport and activity in ways that are lasting and impactful
- Helping schools show the impact of their PE, sport and physical activity offer.
