Activity details

Two person star relay is an interactive and fun team orienteering competition where pupils run to mapped control sites from a central starting point. 

  • Number of participants: Group 
  • Purpose of activity: Increase pupil physical activity through map reading skills 
  • Including all pupils: Ideas for differentiation included 
  • Pupil roles: Participant, leader, official 
  • Space: Outdoors. Ensure the space is large enough for pupils to travel around simultaneously without the potential of collision when looking at maps 
  • Equipment: Cones or markers, maps and control cards
