What is a multi-skills festival?

Multi-Skill focuses on developing fundamental movement skills such as agility, balance, coordination, throwing, catching and jumping. Activities are designed to be inclusive and accessible, encouraging young people to improve against their own personal best while building confidence, motivation and enjoyment in being active.

Primary format

Multi-Skill Festivals for primary settings are delivered as skills-based festivals using a rotation of activity stations. The format prioritises personal progress over competition, supporting physical literacy, confidence and enjoyment. Activities are easily adapted to suit different spaces, group sizes and abilities, and are suitable for curriculum delivery, intra-school competition and inter-school festivals. SEND-inclusive adaptations ensure all children can take part meaningfully.

SEND format

Multi-Skill does not have a standalone SEND format, but the activities are easily adaptable to support inclusion. Using simple equipment, flexible rules, personal-best challenges and varied pacing, schools can tailor the activities to meet a wide range of needs, ensuring meaningful participation and positive experiences for all children. We would recommend looking at other sports available as school games formats and selecting appropriate activities that could slot into a festival format.

School Games Organisers

School Games Organisers (SGO) help schools coordinate appropriate competitive opportunities for all young people from Key Stage 2-4, to recruit, train and deploy a suitable workforce, and to support the development of club.
