What is squash?

Players must hit the ball between the designated lines on the front wall – above the middle line for a serve and above the bottom line for normal play, but always below the top line – and attempt to make a shot their opponent can’t return.

As with tennis, a point is won if the ball bounces twice or the receiving play fails to hit a legal return. A return shot can bounce off either of the side walls or the back wall provided it legally strikes the front wall before it hits the floor again.
