Keysteps 1,2 & 3 Gymnastics at Little Springers

On Thursday 6th February 4 children from Year 1/2 headed off to Syston for the Little Springers Gymnastic Festival. We were all excited and Soph, Olivia, Bobby and Myles had all worked so hard learning their routines, they were ready to show the judges!! We were one of the first schools to perform and the whole team performed brilliantly, smiling all the way. It was a long wait for the results and we couldn’t believe it when they read Ab Kettleby out as the winners!!!! Before long the rest of the team arrived, it was fantastic to be able to tell them that we’d won the first age group and they were all really happy for Key Stage 1.   

Next it was year 3/4 and Hollie, Millie, Felicity and Sophia K were set to show their skills. Again, all 4 performed their routines as well as they ever had and now had to wait for everyone else to perform. The competition was tough and other schools also performed very well. It was nerve wracking waiting for the results but we were thrilled when they called Ab Kettleby as third place!   

After a long wait it was finally time for the yr5/6 team to perform. Kiya, Daisy-Mae, Henry and Lily worked well as a team and supported each other all the way. They had tough routines and were also up against some incredible talent. However they performed well and when we heard they came 4th, we were thrilled!!!   

It was such a good day, watching 12 children represent Ab Kettleby in gymnastics. They did themselves and the school proud! Thank you to Little Springers and Clare Marlow for organising the competition and to all the parents who helped their children learn the routines!! Whilst it’s done for another year for year 3/4 and year 5/6, our key stage 1 winners are going on to represent the county in the finals where they will perform all disciplines again.
