Representing Wakefield at the West Yorkshire Sport Cross Country, Izzy Jones finished first out of all her Wakefield team mates.

Izzy comes first out of all the Wakefield Competitors

Having already won the Year 4 Wakefield Cross-Country Competition earlier in the year, Izzy Jones finished the West Yorkshire Sport School Games competition in 20th position and was the first athlete representing Wakefield to cross the finish line. The event was held at Temple Newsam in Leeds and saw 175 Year 4 athletes complete the course. 

Earlier in the year Izzy had represented our school along with other members of Year 4,5 and 6 at the Wakefield School Games competition. The top 3 finishers in each age group along with the best school were asked to represent Wakefield at the West Yorkshire School Games. Izzy was the only member of the school to qualify in what was a tough competition. 

Our Year 4 and 6 pupils will be representing the school at the Orienteering West Yorkshire Schools Games have qualified from the Wakefield round earlier in the week.
