football, netball, basketball and gymnastics

Seems to have been a while........we have been undeterred by the weather and many of our lunchtime and after-school sessions have continued. Y5 and 6 girls have been particularly busy with after school football and netball practices and tournaments. The U11 girls played in a tournament held at Tapton. Playing on astro was great , and I was really impressed with their skills improvement and supporting each other - as in backing up for a pass - but it was bitterly cold and one of our defenders didn't warm up the whole time poor thing! We played 4 matches; drawing 3 and losing one by 0-1. I was really impressed and hope they all continue at whichever Secondary School they go to in Y7. The Y5 netballers are in action tomorrow at SGHS for the annual tournament and I'm hoping to get some other fixtures for them. Our gymnasts were in action this morning at Ponds Forge and next week is the big reveal to see who's in the Y3/4 Hot Shots Basketball team......plus the Y6 boys are playing a final league/round robin tournament amongst ourselves to finish off their season sob sob.
