Bee Proud Hockey Year 3/4

Mr Ellis, 18 Dec 2019

We travelled Rayner Stephens to take part in the first ever Bee Proud Hockey Event, and we came 1st & 2nd!!

What a fantastic evening!

Eighteen year 3 and 4 children travelled to Rayner Stephens High School to take part in the first ever Bee Proud hockey event. This event consisted of the children working in teams of six and making their way around ten different stations. The stations included a selection of skills: passing, dribbling, controlling and shooting.

Each team started on a different station and it was the children’s job to read what they had to do at each station and to keep score at each station.

It was a very cold and wet evening (as it always is at Rayner Stephens and at the hockey) but the children didn’t let this stop them from having fun and representing the school.

At one station, the children had to run and collect the ball, dribble to the area and then shoot in the net.

At another one they had to aim to hit a collection of cones with each cone worth a different amount of points.

At the end of the evening, when most of the children were either cold, wet or hungry, the scores were added up. Would Greenside have another successful evening?

Third place was…Russell Scott.

Second place was…Greenside 1.

First place was…Greenside 2.

What a fantastic result. A result that sees us through to the School Games later in the year.

Player of the night goes to OM for his enthusiasm and concentration at all stations.
