School Games Basketball Heat
We went to the School Games Basketball heats
On Friday 7th February we had a lengthy journey to Alder High School in Gee Cross to take on lots of other schools to try to qualify for the Tameside basketball final the following Wednesday.
However, it wasn’t really to be for our two teams on the night. Team A played some nice build up play and improved every game but struggled to score baskets when they had the chance. We played some very good teams from Pinnfold and Airlies but had the better of the games but didn’t manage to get the points we needed and lost both.
Fortunately, we did manage to win the last game to finish 5th in the group.
Team B had similar problems with their scoring, playing with some good team work and defending
hard, with Kieran inpartuclar showing some super dribbling skills. We didn’t manage to get the win we deserved though, meaning we finished 3rd.
This meant that on the night, despite our best efforts, neither team qualified for the final.
