Tameside Handball Tournament

We travelled to Astley Sports Village for the Handball Tournament.

On Tuesday 10th December we travelled through the traffic over to Dukinfield to take part in the Tameside Handball Championship at Astley Sports Village.

In our first game the two Greeside teams took on each other and it was a competitive game from the start with Greenside A racing into 1 3-0 lead before it was pulled back to 3-1. Two more goals were swapped meaning Greenside A won 4-2.

Greenside A carried on this great form in their second game against Poplar Street B, with a superb and dominant 9-0 victory. Greenside B also played Poplar Street B in their second game and produced a very good 4-1 victory.

In the third game Greenside A has another great win to make it

3 from 3 against Poplar Street A while our B team played very well for nearly all the game against Russell Scott missing out 7-4 in an entertaining game.

Russell Scott the played our A team and in a tense and tight game we drew 3-3 to stay unbeaten while our B team lost to Manchester Road Despite once again starting well.

In their last game it all came together for our B Team as they won very well against Poplar Street A.

It all came down to the last game for Greenside A as we knew if we beat Manchester Road we would be Tameside Champions. In a close game we produced our best performance to win 4-2 and win the tournament! Another fantastic result.
