Gymnastics Competition 2019

Francesca, 4 Apr 2019

Francesca in Year 4 tells us all about our recent inter-school gymnastics competition.

What happened?

Pupils from Cambo, Whalton and Longhorsley competed in a gymnastics competition against each other (only year 3 and 4 competed though). Year 1 and 2 did climbing, jumping challenges and loads more while we competed. We practiced our tumbling routines, forwards rolls, star jumps, forwards roll, tuck jump and forwards roll half turn jump. I was very dizzy at the end of it.  I even fell over! We were also supposed to do vaults but that would be time-consuming and then we wouldn’t have time to do everyone.

Could Longhorsley have done better?

I know everybody did their best and tried their hardest to win (I’ll say who wins later). In my opinion everybody did amazing! I know that because looking at everybody performances they tried really hard. Cambo and Whalton did great too and I hope everybody enjoyed it.

Who won?

In 3rd place was a girl from Whalton. 2nd place was a girl from Longhorsley named Annabel and 1st place...was from Longhorsley! It was me! Sam (the coach) then added the scores and the overall school winner was Whalton! Longhorsley came second and Cambo third. Well thanks for reading my blog on the gymnastics competition. That’s all - bye!
