Amazing Performance at Indoor Primary Schools Athletics Championships

3rd place and Individual success for Callum

On Saturday 17th November, Spurcroft were fortunate enough to have 2 teams in the Indoor Athletic Championships held at Park House Secondary School. In total there were 18 school teams competing. Each child competed in up to 4 events from: sprints, various relays, standing long jump, standing triple jump, javelin, vertical jump, speed bounce and ball throw. What a fantastic morning - the children all performing to the best of their abilities and excelling in many events with some personal best records and beating previous event records. They all showed fantastic support for their team mates and represented the school with pride and determination to be the best – a great atmosphere.

The final results were in and Spurcroft had achieved 3rd place. All the children were presented with a super trophy.  As a result of individual success Callum Little achieved Best Overall Boy – he jumped 49cm in the vertical and 199cm in the long jump and finished 1st in his sprint events.
