Spurcroft played their 2nd match in the Berks and Bucks league group games

Berks & Bucks Football Match

Berks and Bucks Cup Match v Geoffrey Field

We had our 2nd group match against Geoffrey Field Primary, in awful wet and windy conditions we played the match.

In the 1st half both teams worked hard and Spurcroft had the majority of opportunities with some good through balls to Callum from Bobby and Teddy but unfortunately either hitting the woodwork or near misses. Deegan made some good saves. Just before half time Geoffrey Field scored from a cross into the box area.

In the 2nd half we focused and made some good decisions. In midfield Jordan and Jake battled hard to keep possession with Danny clearing wide to create space. Teddy and William worked hard in defence clearing the ball, however a lapse in concentration and an own goal was scored. We gathered ourselves and pushed forward with Bobby and Callum linking well and scored to give the team a lift. Deegan made some excellent saves from corner crosses and throughout the 2nd half we had chances but couldn’t find the back of the net. The final result was a win to Geoffrey Field 2-1. “Man of the Match” goes to Bobby Brown for his determination throughout the game. With all the league results in we finished 2nd in our group and will play a further match in the Spring term with the other 2nd placed teams.

Congratulations to all the players: Teddy Mackie, Callum Little, Bobby Brown, William Appleby, Deegan Delport, Jake Jury, Jordan Frost and Danny Richardson.
