Boccia winners

The school took part in a Boccia Festival and the focus was on participation in sport and an opportunity for children to enjoy an alternative sporting activity.  Spurcroft had 3 teams representing the school; one for KS1 team and 2 LKS2 teams.

Each team played in a group of 3 and took part in 2 matches.

Spurcroft A played Speenhmaland B and Falkland and won all their matches finishing in 1st place in their group. Spurcroft B and Spurcroft C played Speenhamland A. For this group there was a draw and so the children had to nominate a player to bowl and tie-breaker ball. Spurcroft B finished 3rd and Spurcroft C finished 2nd in their group.

A finals match was played for each team which all the children enjoyed. The children bowled accurately and worked as a team encouraging everyone.

The results were in and Spurcroft waited anxiously. Medals were handed out and the Spurcroft A team had finished 1st overall and were awarded gold medals, whilst the other teams finished 4th and 5th and received Bronze medals for excellent participation. The “A” team will represent the school at the County Finals in March – Congratulations.

Well done to Ethan Argyle, Oliver Chitty, Connor Bremner, Alfie Dore, Mason Goddard, Eva Robinson, Layla Walsh, Tekai Rhone and Noah Horton. Thank you to parents who helped transport the children and support at the event.
