Dynamos Cricket Festival fun - This was our 1st competitive event since March 2020 and the children were excited to be representing the school at this cricket tournament.

Year 5/6 Dynamos Cricket Festival

The school were taking part in a Dynamo cricket festival alongside 11 other schools.  We had a group of 3 and faced some tough opposition. We played Woolhampton first and Charlie C and Tristain managed to hit some 4’s boundaries to boost our score. We lost the match and had a talk about what we needed to improve.

The second match we faced a strong Birch Copse team, despite losing we improved our bowling and batting skills which was great to see with Jack running out the opposition with a good throw to the stumps and Charlie C bowled out a player. We scored more runs with 4’s from Charlie K and Charlie C and good paired work from Jack and Elliot.

We had finished 3rd in our group and after lunch faced Aldermaston. This was our best match with the team working together and communicating more. Excellent fielding from Bella and Harry who gained 2 run outs, Jack stumped the wickets and bowled out the opposition and a super long throw from Charlie K for Sophie to hit the stumps. We also scored our highest run total of 72 with 4’s from Harry and Charlie K and won the match. We then finished with a friendly against Robert Sandilands.

A great experience for everyone and super team work. Well done to: Charlie Cooke, Sophie Atkins, Ella Clark, Harry Baillie, Charlie Kilroy, Tristain Greenslade, Jack Harding, Elliot Morgan, Ava Woodrow and Bella Ashworth.
