Girls Indoor Football

GIRLS Indoor 5-a-side football tournament

The Girls Indoor 5 a-side football tournament took place at Trinity and we were excited to be playing – we had 5 matches to play. Our 1st game against Kintbury resulted in a 0-0 draw – Spurcroft had chances but didn’t find the back of the net. We then played Robert Sandilands and again we held them to a no score draw. Lorena made some good saves.

Our third match Lorena came out of goal and Bo made some excellent saves. We scored from a penalty and also a good goal from Lorena to lead 2-0. Burghfield attacked and scored a good goal and unfortunately they were awarded a penalty and scored from with the result being 2-2. Cold Ash was our best game with Spurcroft working hard in attack – Millie, Amelie and Lorena taking opportunities to pass and move the ball well and have lots of attempts on goals – Amelie scored 1 and Lorena scored 6 to win 7-0. The final game we faced Shaw Cum-Donnington and more goals for the team winning 4-0. Bo scored a goal and Lorena got a hat-trick. Jess worked hard as GK and made several saves with Faye strong in defence.

The results were in and Spurcroft had finished 3rd but never lost a match.

Well done to the girls who represented the school: Jess Argyle, Lorena Lopez-Catalan, Millie Broughton, Amelie Burton, Faye Morris, Evie Kernoghan and Bo Deas.
