Personal Challenge (2) Skips

Miss Hogarth, 25 Oct 2019

The 2nd personal challenge was decided by the Sports Crew, and it was decided that the next challenge would be 'How many skips can you do in 30 seconds?' Following on from the success of last week's challenge, the crew soon got to work on their posters and certificates. The announced the challenge in assembly, and were eager to get started.

On Monday 21st October, it was EYFS/KS1's turn to have a go. The crew organised themselves in to pairs and decided what job they would be doing. They had fantastic organisation skills to ensure that everything ran smoothly.

Whilst the children who weren't having a go were waiting, they were able to take a skipping rope and practice before getting called for their turn.

The winner of the EYFS/KS1 girl was Willow in Year 2, who skipped an impressive 29 times, and the boy winner was Charlie B in Year 1, who skipped 13 times.

On Wednesday 23rd October, it was the turn of KS2, who were very eager to have a go!

Eventually, the winners were confirmed.

Kelsey in Year 5 (who is a member of the sports crew) skipped a fantastic 43 times!

Archie in Year 4 was the boys winner, with 26 skips.

The winners got announced in assembly and certificates were given out by the sports crew.

It was a brilliant couple of lunch times, and we are very much looking forward to the next challenge! #stgerardsareactive

St Gerard's RC Primary School

In 2018-19, all of the staff and pupils at St. Gerard's, including our fantastic Sports Crew, worked extremely hard to develop our PE and sport provision. We were beyond proud to have this recognised nationally by achieving the Gold School Games Mark for the second consecutive year! In 2019-20 we hope to achieve this accolade again by further strengthening our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity programme.
