Personal Challenge 5

Eden and Amelia (Y5 Sports Crew), 25 Mar 2019

This week's personal challenge was shuttle running between two cones. The children had to do 10 runs in the quickest time to be in with a chance of winning.

Personal Challenge 5

Aidan was the photographer making sure that we had some photos for the blog. Eden and Sophie were demonstrating the activity so that the children knew what they were doing. Laila-Su was in charge of timing and Eden also made sure that we wrote all the scores down ready to pick out the winners.

Ollie (Y1 winner) said " I liked the running  because it was fun. I also won a challenge before and it makes me feel proud!"

Braxton (Y2 winner) said, "I liked having to touch the cones and run 10 times in between. I tried my best and really believed in myself and felt really pleased to win!"

Kirstie (Y5) who was the fastest girl in KS2 said, "I felt really relieved to have won the challenge because I gave my best effort. I particularly enjoyed this week because I love running!"

Oliver (Y5) was the fastest boy in KS2 and he said, "It was a lot of fun although it was also very tiring. I was really determined to achieve my best and so was ecstatic to have won overall!"

St Gerard's RC Primary School

In 2018-19, all of the staff and pupils at St. Gerard's, including our fantastic Sports Crew, worked extremely hard to develop our PE and sport provision. We were beyond proud to have this recognised nationally by achieving the Gold School Games Mark for the second consecutive year! In 2019-20 we hope to achieve this accolade again by further strengthening our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity programme.
