Y5 House Hockey Competition

Eden, Laila-Su and Oliver (Y5 Sports Crew), 9 Apr 2019

Today in PE, Year 5 took part in and helped to run an intra-house competition at the end of our unit of work on hockey. Four teams were up against each other to see who could score the most goals and win Gold!

We took it in turns to help score and record each match ready for this blog. Mrs Harding umpired with assistance from one of the teams who were not playing.

The final results were as follows:

1st - Postgate (Red)

2nd - Clitherow (Blue)

3rd = Fisher and More (Green and Yellow)

Congratulations to Postgate who were deserved winners, Finley and Aidan played especially well and the teamwork overall was excellent!

Afterwards, Finley said, "Ii feel very honoured and pleased to have won with my team!"

Ruby added, "I really enjoyed playing against other teams, it was a good experience!"

Lennon also mentioned, "It was good to finish our hockey lessons with a competition."

St Gerard's RC Primary School

In 2018-19, all of the staff and pupils at St. Gerard's, including our fantastic Sports Crew, worked extremely hard to develop our PE and sport provision. We were beyond proud to have this recognised nationally by achieving the Gold School Games Mark for the second consecutive year! In 2019-20 we hope to achieve this accolade again by further strengthening our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity programme.
