Year 3 World Cup Tag Rugby Competition 07.10.19
Year 3 took part in a World Cup Tag Rugby Competition in PE this morning. Four teams represented each of the home nations - England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and showed how much they have learnt about the game over the last few weeks.
The children really enjoyed their first opportunity of leadership by taking on a range of roles within the lesson including referee, team captain, scorekeeper. It was a fantastic competition and the final results were very close.
Braxton (Year 3) said, "I liked it when Junior was blowing the whistle at the end of the match, he was like a professional referee!"
Isabel (Year 3) said, "I really liked it when Lucas scored the hat-trick. All 3 tries were amazing!"
All the children received a special certificate. Congratulations to Scotland who were the overall winners and received the gold medal!
St Gerard's RC Primary School
In 2018-19, all of the staff and pupils at St. Gerard's, including our fantastic Sports Crew, worked extremely hard to develop our PE and sport provision. We were beyond proud to have this recognised nationally by achieving the Gold School Games Mark for the second consecutive year! In 2019-20 we hope to achieve this accolade again by further strengthening our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity programme.
