Year 3/4 Tag Rugby Competition 4.10.19

Miss Hogarth, Nancy & Archie, 7 Oct 2019

On Friday a group of Year 4 children hopped on a bus and went to Middlesbrough Sports Village to take part in the Middlesbrough Schools tag rugby competition. The weather wasn't looking too good but we were in high spirits because we have been working really hard in our PE lessons to prepare us for this competition.

Year 3/4 Tag Rugby Competition 4.10.19

We got put in to our groups in the morning, there were 4 schools in our group.

We won the first game, and drew the next 3. Each one of us scored a try! After a tiring morning, we came 2nd in the group which meant we were in to the plate competition in the afternoon.

In the afternoon, we won all of our matches, meaning that we came home with gold medals and a big trophy!!

Archie said - "I enjoyed winning and especially because we tried our hardest!"

Nancy said - "I liked when we played St Augustines, because it was a bit of a challenge!"

There was great skill, technique and teamwork shown by the team, and we are looking forward to our next competition!!

St Gerard's RC Primary School

In 2018-19, all of the staff and pupils at St. Gerard's, including our fantastic Sports Crew, worked extremely hard to develop our PE and sport provision. We were beyond proud to have this recognised nationally by achieving the Gold School Games Mark for the second consecutive year! In 2019-20 we hope to achieve this accolade again by further strengthening our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity programme.
