Autumn
A summary of all the exciting things we've been getting up to in the Autumn term.
We have been very busy over the Autumn term at St. John’s. We attended various outer school competitions and festivals which the children thoroughly enjoyed. A highlight for us was when we reached the finals of the year 5/6 football. This was a real achievement for the team and their coaches and has inspired us to work even harder in P.E. going forward. We attended the Sports Hall athletics event which was a real success. The children had been attending a lunchtime athletics club with ‘Real Runners’ coach Kevin. They worked on various skills ranging from triple jump, chest push, speed bounce and javelin. The majority of the children were able to learn something completely new which they then used during the event itself. We came 2nd place which was another fantastic result for St. John’s. We have introduced a number of new after school/lunchtime clubs to expand the range of sports children have access to. We now offer archery, handball and hockey along with football and netball.
