Cross Country Year 5 and 6

Super effort for Years 5 and 6 for the Cross Country run!

Cross Country Year 5 and 6

On 7th November, some of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils went to an event at one of Kingston Grammar Sports fields. One of the competitors, Joe, was running for his first time, “It was my first time going and I didn’t know what to expect.” In the end, he really enjoyed it, and came 21st out of 136 people. He hopes to go again. Well done Joe! Alex L

Each of the students were a credit to St John’s, setting an excellent example in behaviour. I was particularly impressed when the students watching their teammates run asked to go and run with the slower runner to help encourage them. This really showed what St John’s is all about; friendship, fellowship and respect. They all ran well, doing their best for themselves and their team. William Warren Year 5 did really well coming 21st and Joe Gibson in Year 6 also did very well, by coincidence also coming 21st in his race. They didn’t come home with any medals but they all enjoyed taking part and had a fun morning, as did I.  Mrs Palmer-Hall
