Year 4 Go Swimming
Year 4 have their first Swimming Lesson
This week our Year 4 class have gone swimming for the first time. As part of the National Curriculum it is a requirement that children leave Primary School being able to :
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
- perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
The children were very excited to head over the road to the swimming baths and especially enjoyed playing Simon Says. They can't wait to develop further in their swimming skills as the weeks go on.
