St. Patrick's win FUTSAL final!

St. Patrick's win the FUTSAL tournament.

St. Patrick's took part in the FUTSAL finals on Tuesday 28th January. It was a nail biting tournament and the squad worked well whilst supporting each other. Josh, Niall, Joshua, James, Pawel and Tom were all excellent as they worked hard as a team and showed everyone what St. Patrick's were like in a competitive environment. 

The first game was a rollercoaster of a ride. The score was 5-0 to St. Patrick's. James scored the opening goal of the tournament, although Niall wasn't far behind with the second. The team then managed to score another 3 goals to seal the victory against Heatherley Primary.

The next game was another great performance, with a 4-0 victory over King Edward. The team worked very hard to get the victory out of the opposition. Once again, St. Patrick's worked hard as a team. Niall and James managed to get another couple of goals, which led St. Patricks to the victory.

St. Patrick's managed to make it straight to the final after two great performances in the group stage. St. Patrick's scored a total of 11 goals in the tournament, with 5 goals from James, 3 from Niall, 2 from Joshua and 1 from Tom. St. Patrick's managed to end on a tournament In the final, St. Patrick's managed to end the tournament on a high with a 2-1 victory against Abbey Primary. Pawel managed to pull off some unbelievable saves to win the game for St. Patrick's. This resulted in St. Patrick's celebrating happily with gold medals around their necks by winning the tournament.

All of the boys played magnificently throughout the tournament. The two goalkeepers, Pawel and Joshua were like brick walls as goalkeepers. Tom and Josh were like rocks in defence and James and Niall were venomous in attack. Overall, it was a very enjoyable tournament and we are all so proud of the team for showing true determination, work ethic and an amazing attitude.
