We Love Cross Country!

Another fantastic Cross Country event this week, we are definitely warmed up now and ready for the Plymouth Championships next week - Bring it on!

We Love Cross Country!

What a fabulous day for cross country at Coombe Dean this afternoon. The weather held off thankfully as hundreds of children from Plymouth schools raced around the mile long course that took them through woods, across fields and down hills to the finish line.

It is always an inspiring sight seeing so many children excerting so much effort and some of them find it all together overwhelming as they cross the line, this is when the support of the spectating parents is invaluable and greatly appreciated by all.

Our runners gave it their all today in every race, for some it was a seasoned performance while for others it was their first time taking to the track and each and every child should be very proud of their accomplishments.

Special mention has to go our medalists today: Phoebe speeding home in 3rd place in the girls yr 3/4 race and Henry sprinting down the finish to claim 2nd place - fantastic.

Thanks as always to PSSP for the organisiation and to Coombe Dean for hosting and providing their sports leaders. It was particularly nice to have 3 ex Wembury pupils acting in this capacity and runing as 'hares' today.

On to the Plymouth championships next week at Staddiscombe; lets hope the weather holds off then too!
