Year 5/6 Basketball Competition

Anais and Maya, 19 Jan 2024

On Monday, 15th of January, our Year 5/6 basketball team had a tournament at St. Bedes Catholic Collage. In our team, we had: Maya, Anais, Jhamal, Dexter.M, Ollie, Theo and Dexter.S from Year 6.

Year 5/6 Basketball Competition

The first round was against St Bon’s ‘A’. Theo straight away and we had a brilliant game but unfortunately we lost 4-2 to St. Bon’s ‘A’. We shook their hands but we were a bit sad that we lost.

The next match was against Nova. They were a bit rough and it was hard to shoot.  They were quite competitive and as a result, we didn’t shoot any goals, we lost 4-0.

The third game was against Elmea ‘A’. This match was very tough too as Elmlea had practiced a lot. We tried very hard and managed to shoot 2 goals but the game ended 8-2 to Elmlea ‘A’. We then had a 5-minute break.

The fourth game was against Bishop Road. Unlucky for Theo, he had a horrible fall while trying to score and hurt his ankle. But that didn’t stop us from working together as a team as the game ended 2-0 for us so that meant we won our first game! We were very proud of each other!

The last and final game was against St. Teresa’s. We had a brilliant match but we just couldn’t get the ball in the hoop and the game ended 2-0 to St. Teresa’s.

We loved the event and we had a brilliant time.

Thank you Mr. Banks for coaching and training us!
