Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition

Sophia, Jackie and Hattie, 9 Jun 2023

On Thursday 8th of June, ten girls from the Year 5/6 girl’s football team went to a tournament at the Imperial Stadium in Brislington. We played four 10 minute matches with breaks in between.

Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition

Our first match was against Broomhill. They played really well but Kate managed to slip one passed the goalkeeper. The match ended 1-0 to Westbury.

Once we had had some water and got our energy back, we watched our next opposition (Ashton Vale) play and they looked really good. When the match started, Iris passed the ball to Lola who smashed it at the back of the net. The match ended 1-0 for us again.

Shirehampton was next and Kate scored her second goal of the tournament when she smashed the ball in the top bins. We continued our winning streak with another 1-0 win.

The fourth match was against Cheddar Grove and it was hard. We were all hot and bothered but that didn’t stop Iris who dribbled up the right wing and just kicked it as hard as she could. 1-0 to us again!

We were all left with glory and happiness but, sadly, we haven’t found out who the winners of the whole competition were. Winning all our matches, we think we have a good shot.

Thanks to Mr. Banks for taking us
