Year 5/6 Great British Dance Off

Anais and Maya, 3 May 2024

On Monday 29th of April, some Year 5 and 6 children competed in the Great Big Dance Off. It started by us going to school and straight away started to practise.

Year 5/6 Great British Dance Off

After that, we changed into our outfits and performed to the school. We enjoyed it. We had lunch at school, ate our snacks and went in the coach.

The coach ride there was almost an hour. We had a great time talking with our friends. We finally arrived at the Bath Forum and were all jumping with excitement.

We entered the Forum and headed to our seats. We sat near the front but not for long. Then we had a rehearsal on the stage. After that, we moved seats on a higher level and we watched other practices.

Our dance was second on and we had a great time dancing. We hoped we would come in the Top 3 so we could go to the finals in Oxford. After we danced, we had tea and watched other performances.

After all the dances were done, we waited for the results, we didn’t come in the Top 3 but we still had a great time.

We had 231 points out of 300 points. We thought we did great and deserved to come Top 3.

Thank you to Alistair (Elijah’s Dad) for mixing the music and thanks to Mrs Davies and Miss Farndon for choreographing the dance with us and taking us to the competition.
