Year 5/6 Netball Superleague Competition

Year 5 Girls, 24 Feb 2023

On Monday, 20th February our Year 5/6 Netball team took part in the Netball Superleague at SHINE’s sports ground.

Year 5/6 Netball Superleague Competition

Our first match was against St. Bernard’s. Our team was: Adiela, Elena, Holly, Bella, Lola, Sophie R and Florence. We made a good start but they had a good defense but not good enough. Eventually, Florence scored a goal and it was 1-0 for Westbury. The whistle blew, leaving Westbury with a win.

Our second match was against Henleaze. With Sophie M joining the team. It was a tough game but Henleaze scored a goal, however, we tried to score but the ball kept going around the hoop and we were so close! The match ended with a 1-0 win to Henleaze but that did not stop us.

Our next match was against St Johns. It was a tough match and St Johns scored but that did not stop our spirit. Adiela scored a goal but then they scored. We responded with a score but then, with one minute until the end of the game, they scored again. Sadly, the score ended 3 - 2 for St Johns.

Soon after, we had to play Blaise. They started with the ball and they scored a goal straight away. They were very rough and hard to beat. Unfortunately, we lost but we tried so hard. The match ended 3-0 to Blaise.

And now we had our hardest test so far! Elmlea! Straight away they scored… and again and again! We knew we could not beat them and the end score finished 8-0.

And if we thought Elmlea was hard, then St. Bons was even harder! It was nearly impossible to get the ball from them. They were definitely the best team there. Even though, we tried our best they won 9-0.

We tried our hardest in every game and overall we had lots of fun. Thank you[BS1]  Mrs. Yates for coaching us.
