Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Competition

Dexter, Elkanah and Hugo, 3 Mar 2023

On the 27th of February, the Westbury Warriors traveled to St Bedes to take part in a rugby tournament.

Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Competition

Our first match was against ST Ursulas. We started off strong with a try from Elkhanah. We kept tagging them and soon it was a turnover. The girls were doing their very best and kept the other team at bay. St Ursulas had some athletic players on their team. It ended 15-10 to us. After that, we shook hands with the other team.

Our second match was against St Bons. They were a really tough team to beat. They started off strong with two back-to-back tries. Although our heads stayed in the game and we broke through their line of defense with Hugo and then he pop passed the ball to Elkhanah who finished it at the try line.  It didn’t stop there, Isaac passed it to Dexter and we scored again. Although we lost 15 - 20 to   St Bons.

The next match was against ST Bernards. They were a bit of an angry team. Dexter broke through the barrier and scored first. Next, the team was complaining to the referee which was a bad idea. While they were complaining, Louie snuck past their team and scored. Sadly, they scored two back-to-back tries. However, Isaac made a good run and scored. From this, we ended up scoring a bucketload of tries. Our defense stood strong too when an opponent ran face-first into Dexter and fell in pain to the ground. After all of that fun, the game ended with us winning by a landslide score of 55 to 10.

Play three and won two… not a bad evening!

Thank You Mr. Pattison for taking us!
