Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics

On the 14th November 2017 the year 5/6 sportshall athletics competition took place at Castle Rock High School.

There were 24 children that represented Woodcote School. There were 11 girls and 13 boys.  

We had 6 field events that consisted of Standing Long Jump, Vertical Jump, Javelin, Speedbounce, Standing Triple Jump and Chest Push. Overall I think that we did amazing at the field events and Lee did very well in the Chest Push and threw to the end of the tape! He also did very well in the Standing Long Jump. Josh did very well in the Javelin throw. Katy and James did very well in the speedbounce. Ashton and Cameron did really well in the vertical jump and Lewis and Darcie did very well in the Standing triple jump.  

We then had 12 track events which we managed to win 10 out of the 12 races, which we felt very proud of our school.  Everyone was so supportive and cheered each other on. All the parents were standing and cheering us on which gave us an extra boost.

 Once the results were in and we found out that we came 2nd out of 20 schools. Willesley narrowly beat us by only 9 points.
