Year 6 Tag Rugby

Year 6 Tag Rugby

On Wednesday 4th October year 5/6 children took part in a tag rugby tournament at Ashby Ruby Club.

Woodcote have been training very hard for the past 5 weeks.

Our first match was against Measham St Charles these were a really good a team but we still won 5-3 but both teams showed very good sportsmanship by doing a celebration bridge.

Our second game was against Ashby C of E and we won by a whooping score 7-4 in this game. Nearly everybody scored and Ashton and Carrick did really well to tag the opposition.

Our third match was against Donisthorpe. These were a really good team and we lost 6-4 because we had a long break before the game and it took us a while to warm up as a team. Shane and Abbie played really well in defence. Harry, Lee and Darcie all scored try's. Blake was our team captain in this game.

We went on to play in the quarter finals against Hilltop. We all felt nervous because they were mentioned as a good team. Sasha took the role of the captain and played this part very well. Tom played really well trying to grab the tags but unfortunately this is where we got knocked out of the tournament and lost 6-4.
