Account and Registration
Q: How do I register for an account on the School Games website?
Register and complete the short form.
Q: Why can’t I access my dashboard immediately after registering?
New accounts require approval by your School Games Organiser (SGO) to ensure users are assigned to the correct school. If you’re unsure who your SGO is, or if there are none in your area, contact us at [email protected] for assistance.
Q: It says my email address is already in use - what do I do?
This likely means you already hold an account or you previously requested one using the same email. Wait for your registration to be approved by the SGO, or contact us if there's a problem.
Q: Can I register under multiple schools?
Yes - some PE specialists work across multiple schools. However, each account must have a separate email address, since your email is tied to one school and dictates the communications you’ll receive.
Q: What if my registration link has expired?
Once your SGO approves your registration, you’ll have five days to activate the account (set password, complete signup). If that window lapses, contact us and we’ll help you finish the process.
Adding Users and Managing Access
Q: Can more than one teacher register for my school?
Yes - any number of teachers can apply. After approval, existing teacher users (via the 'Your School' section of your dashboard) can add colleagues, potentially bypassing SGO approval.
Q: Can someone else register on my behalf?
Yes - another teacher already registered can add you via the 'Your School' section. The SGO can also directly add teachers or reset passwords.
Q: How can I edit my contact information?
In your dashboard, click on your name (in the top right corner) and select 'My Account'. From there, you can update your email, password, or other contact details. Note: changing your email will also change your login credentials.
Q: I’ve forgotten my password - how do I log back in?
Click 'Forgot password' on the login page and follow the on-screen instructions. If that fails, contact us or your SGO to reset it manually.
School Games Mark and Collateral
Q: When can I apply for the School Games Mark?
The application window opens annually between early May to the end of July. Specific dates will be announced via the School Games Mark page, your dashboard, our newsletter, and social media channels.
Q: Where do I find School Games Mark collateral?
Digital materials (for the most recent year) are available under the School Games Mark resource page in your dashboard. If you need older materials, contact us. Physical collateral (badges, pennants) are distributed via your SGO; past materials cannot be reproduced.
Website Features and Events
Q: What else is available on the site to support me?
- Events calendar: Track local and regional activity, or schedule your own
- Resource library: Access guidance documents, certificate templates, and more
- User guides: Found in your dashboard’s Resource library to walk you through functions like event management.
Q: How does the School Games calendar work?
Refer to the Event Management guidance resource available in the Resource Library.
Q: Why can I only add intra-school events?
Inter-school event scheduling is managed by SGOs (for your area) and SGCAs (for county-wide events). If you have an inter-school event (e.g. a friendly competition), ask your SGO to add it to their calendar as a development or festival event.
Q: How do I add my School Games Day?
Add it like any other event - in the event creation form, tick the 'School Games Day' checkbox.
