New School Games podcast - Episode 4 now available
The fourth episode of our new podcast is now live! The topic is Equal Opportunities (Part Two).
This podcast was hosted by Clare Warburton who was joined by Richard Radford (Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity Senior Policy Manager, Department for Education) and practicing SGOs Claire Tennyson and Chris Story.
They discussed the priority of equal opportunities in physical education and sports within schools, with a focus on improving participation among girls. They also shared strategies for increasing physical activity, such as embedding physical education into school cultures, targeting families, and involving girls in planning and leadership. There was also discussion around the implementation of the School Games Mark programme to improve provision for school sports and physical activity, with a focus on data and evidence to support their efforts.
