Sport England’s Active Design guidance: consultation draft

Posted 20th January 2023

Sport England would welcome views on a draft of its updated Active Design guidance.

Valuable input from a range of organisations and individuals throughout the summer has helped shape a new draft version of the Active Design guidance, which is being developed in partnership with Active Travel England and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.

Active Design focusses on ensuring the places where people live, work, and enjoy can promote regular physical activity in daily life, through walking, cycling, informal or formal sport and other means. The guidance plays a key role in supporting Sport England’s Uniting the Movement Strategy, specifically the delivery of ‘Active Environments’, which is one of the five ‘Big Issues’ the strategy identifies as offering the greatest potential for preventing and tackling inequalities in sport and physical activity.

To help shape the final version of the guidance we would really appreciate your feedback on the draft document. To help with the consultation process, we have prepared a short survey. The consultation will close on 10 February 2023. View the consultation draft and survey here – Active Design Consultation

Any thoughts and opinions you’d like to share via the survey will be of great value to Sport England in shaping the final version of the updated guidance. If you think any of your colleagues would also like to share their views on Active Design, please do share the link.

Additionally, if you have any further feedback, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected].
