School Games National Summit 2025
The School Games National Summit will take place on Wednesday 11 June 2025. It is an opportunity for SGOs, Active Partnerships, and NGBs/NDSOs to get together to look at how they can continue to deliver change locally and make a difference nationally.

This year, the Summit will maintain its focus on our three key pledges: tackling inequalities, embedding youth voice and promoting physical literacy. The day will involve sharing best practice examples, highlighting innovative solutions, and lessons learned from across School Games. It will also include an NGB/NDSO Jamboree to bring to life how competition and events can meet the diverse needs of young people. The sessions will demonstrate the impact of a variety of approaches to address the pledges and develop the skills and expertise through which to do so. The three strands of session content are:
- How we can tackle inequalities and ensure we are reaching those who need us most?
- Youth voice and the importance of involving young people in creating their offer
- Understanding physical literacy and innovative ways to create positive experiences.

Workshop/Session Programme
The workshop programme within each strand uses Bloom's taxonomy to meet the varying experiences, knowledge, understanding, and learning styles across the network. You are free to select any session but we have recommended sessions we feel will be most suitable based on the ‘I can’ statement that best matches your current knowledge and experience (please refer to tables in each strand of the programme).
School Games Outcomes
We have positioned the workshops against the School Games outcomes to help you identify the sessions most appropriate for your needs. The School Games Outcomes are:
- Advocate and position the delivery of the Chief Medical Officer's daily active minutes for all young people, as a universal offer to maintain and grow school engagement
- Ensure all competition has a clear intent and creates positive experiences based on the motivation, competence, and confidence of the young people that need support the most
- Have a clear focus on secondary school engagement and transition points
- Support the personal development of targeted young people through youth voice and leadership
- Advocate and engage key stakeholders on the value of School Games to support local provision and improve the experience for young people and their families.
