As part of the Stenbury Federation, we at Wroxall share in the vision for PE and Sport ‘to develop children into physically literate, active and healthy young people’. We have three main aims: - To provide a positive experience in a safe , enjoyable and encouraging environment. - To develop the fundamental movement skills and knowledge for a lifetime love of being fit and healthy. - To ensure the children are able to be confident, balanced and coordinated young people whether sporty or not.

Our specialist PE Teacher delivers the  entire PE curriculum to enhance the physical literacy of all children. The curriculum is based around a Multi-Skills principle which teaches the core skill that are needed to lead an active life. In year 3 children also get taught swimming and water safety skills.

Within all activities it is a particular focus to teach the skill and not the sport. We want our children to be able to transfer the skills across all aspects of PE.  Alongside this we support the children who show a particular interest or ability in a particular sport through a wide ranging extra-curricular programme and links with external sports clubs.

At the centre of everything we do in PE in the idea of having a Growth Mindset and the idea of not giving up even when things seem impossible to manage.

The children have developed their own ideas of what they think it means to them to be doing well in PE.

It is not all about participating in sport as a competitor children are given the responsibility to organise, coach, lead and officiate activities as part of our flourishing Sports Leaders Crew.
