Equipment Needed

Most schools already have equipment to support children with an amputation or limb difference in PE and school sports. However, there are a few key considerations to ensure full inclusion:

  • Prosthetic changes - time and space to change them before participating
  • Adapted equipment - specialised or modified equipment for ball and racquet sports
  • Safe changing spaces - a designated area available for children to adjust their prosthetic or socket comfortably
  • Kit bags - a dedicated kit bag for their prosthetic and other sporting essentials.
