UK Deaf Sport
UK Deaf Sport is the National Disability Sports Organisation for all deaf sport and physical activity in the UK.

Who are UK Deaf Sport?
UK Deaf Sport provides support, advice, and training to help practitioners create inclusive environments for individuals with deafness or hearing loss. With over 50,000 deaf children in the UK, their mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to take part in sport throughout their lives, with pathways leading to the world stage at the Deaflympics.
Their website features a library of video resources offering guidance on creating inclusive sports environments and adapting communication methods for deaf participants. It also includes British Sign Language (BSL) videos to support accessibility in sport and physical activity.
Equipment Needed
Only a few equipment adaptations are needed to support deaf children in sport and physical activity:
- Visual aids, such as whiteboards, are available to show any activities alongside activity cards.
- In some sports, flags are also used by officials as visual cues to ensure they have all player’s attention.
