The organisation offers expert specialist support for parents, support workers, teachers, coaches, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, sport providers and other professionals to ensure activity is adapted to suit individual needs.

Training – their website offers online training modules to increase awareness of Cerebral Palsy and how practitioners can adapt their sessions to provide an inclusive environment for participants with CP.

Influence – CP Sport provides people with Cerebral Palsy a platform to be heard. Striving to influence the sector to create a more inclusive environment for all. The charity aims to listen to the voices of people with cerebral palsy to identify enablers to the challenges they face in sport and physical activity.

Support and Advice – CP Sport can offer support and advice specific to your needs when contacting them directly.

Collaboration – CP Sport work closely with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to provide the best information tailored to each individual sport. When contacting CP Sport, they can connect you with NGBs, organisations and other professionals to ensure individuals with CP have the best experience in sport and physical activity.

Equipment Needed

Any equipment can be adapted but some items that can be helpful are:

  • Floor basketball net
  • Boccia balls
  • Baseball batting tee
  • Flat floor markers (so wheelchairs can role over them)
  • Cue cards for activity instructions and for general requests e.g. drink, toilet, rest
  • Beans bags
