New School Games sport formats now available!
Twenty brand-new School Games sport formats are now live, giving schools, School Games Organisers (SGOs) and Active Partnerships more opportunities to deliver inclusive, engaging and meaningful competition.
The latest wave introduces updated formats for Cricket, Judo, Orienteering and Rowing, developed in partnership with the relevant National Governing Bodies (NGBs).
The new formats offer a range of options for different ages, abilities, and settings, helping schools to deliver School Games activity that is enjoyable and accessible for their young people.

These new formats build on the continued rollout of redesigned School Games sport formats developed in partnership with NGBs.
Updated formats are already available across a wide range of sports, including: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boccia, Bowls, Cycling, Dodgeball, Football, Futsal, Goalball, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, MATP, Multi-Skills, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Squash, Swimming, Table Cricket, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch Rugby, Triathlon, Volleyball, and Weightlifting.
As schools and the School Games network plan activity for the 2026/27 academic year, make sure the latest formats are being used when delivering School Games events.
The updated formats are also available to select within the School Games Events Calendar, helping schools and the wider network accurately record the activity being delivered.
