England Athletics continue to explore creative ways in how to support young people stay active and get back on ‘track’ through Funetics – a programme which develops running, jumping, and throwing skills for a healthy confident future (4-11yrs) with activities linked to cross-curriculum subjects Maths and English. 

  • Activity: Individual or group
  • Purpose of Activity: Increase pupils physical activity through attending Athletics summer holiday camps and developing fundamental skills in a fun way
  • Including all pupils: Think STEP for differentiation
  • Pupil Roles: Participant
  • Space: Outdoors - ensure the space is suitable for athletics activities
  • Equipment: cones, markers, a range of throwing items
