Activity details

This activity is based on rhythmic gymnastics, using sequences of movements to create a routine developing the a, b, cs of agility, balance and coordination.

  • Number of participants: Groups.
  • Purpose of activity: Increase pupil’s activity levels through developing sequences of movements using agility balance and coordination. Linking movements smoothly to create longer sequences and then adding hoops, balls, ribbons into the routines for added challenge. 
  • Including all pupils: STEP framework included. 
  • Pupil roles: Participant.
  • Space: Indoors/Outdoors. Ensure there is enough space for pupils to travel uninterrupted in the play area. 
  • Equipment: Music, hoops, scarves, rhythm wands, jingle bracelets, ribbon tail balls, dance rings, pompoms or objects pupils can add safely to their routines.
