Aimee Everett - Crystal Palace FC Assembly - Wednesday 23rd November 2023

On Wednesday 23rd November 2023 , we were lucky enough to be visited by Aimee Everett from Crystal Palace Women's FC. Following on from the England Women's legacy we wanted to drive and promote the participation of girls in sport. As a result, we managed to organize coaching we Aimee Everett, and before sending out our club invitation letters we plugged the interest in a special whole school assembly.

Aimee spoke to the children about her inspirations, her development as a player, and how she developed a love of football. She explained the challenges she faced due to the limited availability of a girl's football team at school and club level. She explained that she spent most of her time playing football with the boys, which made her the fantastic player that she is today!

Aimee Everett is one of the youngest players in the team and is well versed in securing promotion from the FA Women’s Championship, having reached the Women’s Super League with Liverpool and Leicester City.

A comfortable ball-playing midfielder, she had a successful 2020/21 season by winning both the Women’s Championship and the Continental Tyres League Cup.

A former England youth international, she spoke of her desire to grow as a player after signing for Crystal Palace: “I don’t think I got to achieve what I wanted as an individual during this time [so far at other clubs]. So I think now, at Palace, I can really focus on my development and progress with the team.

“Personally, I’d like to get as many minutes as possible, to gain lots of experience and improve my game. As a club, I’d like to help us win games and improve on where the team finished in the league last year and show how good of a club Palace is.”

Everett won the club's Player of the Season award in 2021/22 after a successful first campaign.

We are so lucky to have her coaching our weekly girls football club, which is aimed at girls in Year 4 - Year 6.
