A very successful morning for our mixed year 6 tag rugby team

Tag Rugby Champions

Kingston Schools Tag Rugby Champions!

On Wednesday 6th November 6 boys and 3 girls from year 6 went to the 2019 Kingston Schools tag rugby tournament.

24 schools across Kingston borough were split into 6 groups of 4. After three tough games beating Tolworth, Latchmere and St Matthews we progressed through to the next round as winners of group 4. It was now time to play the winners of group 5 & 6 in a 3 team playoff to progress to the final. Another two very tough games against Ellingham and Lovelace ended well for Corpus Christi and it was time to prepare for the final against St Agathas. This proved to be our closest game of the morning and after 8 minutes of tag rugby it was still 0-0, so it was time 3 minutes of extra time. Within the first minute a fantastic try scored by Corpus Christi proved to be the deciding try and we were Champions. A very big congratulations to the 9 players who represented the school excellently playing some fantastic tag rugby scoring a total of 12 try’s and only conceding 2. This is the first time our school has won the Kingston Schools tag rugby tournament which is a great achievement. We now go on to represent Kingston at the London Youth Games. Well done!
