2nd Place ! Y5/6 Indoor Canoeing Competition @ Robert Sutton – Tuesday 11th March 2019

Edge Hill entered two teams of 8 into tonight’s competition with a mix of experience. Some children had been to the competition before, whilst others had very little experience.

Each of our teams competed in a girls’ race, a boys’ race and a team race. In the last race, the teams had to paddle 1250m, taking turns to get as far as they could before handing the paddle to the next member of their team.

In the individual girls’ race, we had Skye win the gold with the furthest distance rowed in 1 minute with Fearne receiving silver. In the individual boys’ race, Harrison received the silver medal for the 2nd furthest distance rowed in 1 minute.

During the team challenge, both teams portrayed very high amounts of determination alongside excellent effort levels. A special mention must go to Ty and Mia W who both rowed a massive 225m each for their team.  EH 1 finished in second place overall with EH 2 finishing 4th.
